Our team of only three people provides MyEdBC support to 270+ schools who have combined 1300+ front office staff spread all across BC. How does our small team manage to answer thousands of tickets each year and thousands of phone calls and do hundreds of individual one-on-one sessions with our schools all while maintaining a 96% "high satisfaction" rating from our schools. Come learn the strategies and tactics that we use on our phone systems, helpdesk systems, and other support systems that you can use in your office to also provide fast and high quality MyEdBC support to your schools and staff. We will also be talking about our strategy in using generative AI in our helpdesk to currently handle 35% of our tickets. (and three AI tricks you can implement now to improve your support). 

L1s supporting site Admin Assistants - a Timeline throughout the School year. I will be sharing the Timeline that our District uses throughout the school year, to follow the provincial business cycle and to assist the site Admin Assistants in making certain that important jobs are completed correctly and in a timely manner. We work with them on all aspects of their daily use of MyEd.

In this session, we will explore the fundamentals of General Data Extracts (GDEs) within MyEdBC. Attendees will learn what GDEs are and how to work with them in Excel. We will delve into a couple of specific GDEs to uncover unique data insights that are not readily available elsewhere in MyEdBC. This presentation is designed for those who are new to GDEs or want to learn more about working with them in Excel, and focuses on the basics, without involving SQL or Power BI. This session is appropriate for both L1s and clerical.

Database applications try their best to present information in broadly useful ways, but there will always be challenging questions.
Consider how one would tackle these:

• Which authorised parents/guardians don’t have family portal access enabled?
• Which students graduated with a Dual Dogwood in 2024?
• Which students took Workplace Math in 2023?

All of these are simple tasks at the Global top tab, which is a treasure trove of useful information. It is also a window into the underlying structure of how MyEd/Aspen is built.
